Nationwide
A. Nationwide routinely refuses to pay fair auto claim settlements.
B. ‘Pay to Play’ policy with body shops (i.e. shops are required to give Progressive kickbacks or otherwise they will not be recommended to claimants).
C. Refusal to pay fair costs for loss of time and/or personal injury settlements unless a lawsuit is filed against them.
D. Refusal to pay Diminished Value unless legal action is sought by the claimant.
E. Refusal to handle claims in a timely manner unless a claimant uses their contracted repair facility.
F. Nationwide has hidden contracts with repair shops. No disclosure of these contracts are made available to the claimant.
G. Openly disparages non-contracted repair shops.
H. Aggressively intimidates consumers that exercise personal choice regarding the body shop they want to repair their vehicle.
I. Nationwide has set up a thinly veiled self certification program. They’ve teamed up with a national after market parts distributor to sell non-certified after market parts to claimants. This circumvents Oregon law that requires all aftermarket parts to be individually certified by independent test facilities.
